Thanks for the tutorial. I know what we have as i built them. They are two seperate a/p clusters and we mirror and log-ship to our scf dr server.

why would you need to set to a/a? we have a/p and mostly use mirrors to our scf site but have used ls aswell.

Yes this is easily done.
Personally i would g o with database mirrioring (without witness), its easier to setup and administer.

Failed logins arent held in their own log perse. They are all in the SQL Server log.

Thanks Manu.Yes, the PRIMARY filegroup will be restored before restoring the target filegroup. But it marks the other filegroups offline.

According to MS,http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188664.aspx, you must be a member of the sysadmin role on both the source and the destination.
