I can think of a couple of reasons where this might be useful.

The services will be run by the individual service accounts. However, a domain groups that contains these domain accounts that will run the various services will need to be created...

What update are you trying to deploy? What version of SQL Server is this?

Do you have multiple instances on the box? If so, are you looking at the registry keys for the right instance?

Not by default. Although, based on your requirements it would be possible to script something to pull this information periodically in a database.
