Has there been any thought about excluding snapshot databases as well from the process. I tried this with a snapshot database on a server and it stopped processing.

That's a very generic error
- trying pinging the database server from the machine you're getting the error, even try connecting from a different client machine
- look at the sql logs...

did you log in to the server console to see if some process was causing the server not to reboot? See if anyone else is RDP'd in to the server.

I didn't realize that it was already obsolete up until now. I have tested this for a very large DW and have seen significant disk space savings.
