TIP SSRS 2008 R2: Make a shared dataset from your query so you can use it any reports that needs the drop down list for ordered months....

Looks to me that the query in your subreport is not correct.
Do you use two hidden parameters in your subreport for StartDate and EndDate both of type datetime ?
