There is an ISO standard for the long term archival of documents. It's called PDF/A (I assume the 'A' stands for archival, but I'm not sure.

There is a utility called "rs" that you can use to run VB.Net scripts against Reporting Services. I'm pretty sure you can use this to manage subscriptions. Look in BOL...
