Thanks for the reply - I'll try out that solution. Although, would that not hard-code the db authentication credentials, thus only that user could use the windows 'pass thru'...

I am experiencing similar problems with deploying reports - Are you using windows authentication, by chance? (See my posts in the Reporting Services > Reporting Services Forum).

Thanks for the reply - I checked the IIS security settings for both Reports AND ReportServer (Directory Security/Anonymous and authentication control) , and they were both set to "Integrated Windows Authentication".
