I would say its for data management then since millions and millions of rows are inserted every week.

Why? I am not sure, I haven't read any article that says 'Partition does or doesn't improve performance". The idea is to enhance the performance. This table gets updated weekly...

Yes, this is the prod environment running on a physical machine so adding space on the existing drive isn't an option and as of now, I have 2GB left.

I specified all columns plus removed EmailActivityKey column and set Identity_Insert to OFF. Let's see if it works

It did work and yes I don't have instant file initialization so no wonder it was taking forever. The DB it self was about 400 GB.

I took the backup which was 17GB in size, restored it on a test server and now the DB size is 247GB. I didn't know the Microsoft guarantees 90%+ data...

Restarting the service is something we can't do now. G drive has 22GB of free space available.

Since this was a small table, I just used Excel to build the script to update all the columns so it's all good. Thanks
