There is a seperate dev & production area. The login is for an application using SQL Server authentication in a web.config file for the application to connect.

The BAK files are delivered on an external drive. They are large so when I copy them over, I have to overwrite.

Its a backup to tape - he is not stopping the db and copying a file - its the backup command for the t-log.
