I think you should use sp_cycle_errorlog to refresh the error log without restarting the SQL Server.

I agree with you Cursor takes time. I had the same experience earlier.

It is not advisable to forcefully deattach and then reattach the DB. You are right data is not there in the data file. You should have a good backup plan...

You're using domain acct,and SQL Server will need to contact the domain controller to validate the acct. Check with the IT team if you have sufficient access and privileges .

I generally use this script to monitor blocking.You can create a job with this script and monitor it.

Check the sql agent log and job history for more information on why the maintenance plan fail. Did you changed the job owner? Some time this might be the reason....

But this did not solve the issue. I removed the maint plan and all log shipping jobs from the primary server and manually added a new pair...
