you mean to say right click on instance-->properties-->memory-->max server memory to 28 gb ryt?

Issue solved. this happens because of deadlock on that process.

i've killed that spid and this query executed successfully.

Unfortunately after doing all these steps am unable to open the DTS Packages and the same is error is coming what i mentioned in my post..

there might be huge usage of tempdb. when that query is executing more than 1 hour.

Execution was normal, bcoz u said the size of the database is near about 300 GB.

Sql Server 2005 Enterprise edition and SP2.

If this is not a Blocking issue, what might be the problem and how to fix this issue.?

Kindly suggest me to fix this problem.
