I am unable to locate NumberOfCores and NumberOfLogicalProcessors properties in Win32_Processor Class.
It would be helpful if someone post the script for Win 2k3, Win XP that includes these properties.

I think the properties you are talking about are present only in Windows Vista edition and later ones:

Have you chked the existence of backup device named "SQLTMP" on the server where you r trying to restore the backup file?

DAC stands for Dedicated administraotr connection-New feature introduced in sql 2005. SQL Server 2005 provides a special diagnostic connection for administrators when standard connections to the server are not possible....

I turned it off when data import operation was going on(but I was already late by tht time).
Lesson learnt: Keep AUTO_SHRINK OFF.

You can alter system tables as per
link but better to stay away from such options.
You can put the SERVER into single-user mode, then connect with the DAC...

Thanks for the reply. What if in case I need to call dtsrun.exe(located on sql server) from a batch file that is present on some other application server?

I am waiting for data import to finish on its own. I dont think sql server will kill it by itself. Will it?
