Seems to be a issue with domain controller. Check event viewer logs.

Try restarting the server and check evnt viewer for any service startup related issue.

Why don't you make use of specifying a log file in agnet job.

Michelle's script will work for you too. Increments depend on the disk hardware that server has. For fast subsystems 5GB increment also works too fine so it depends..
