I was receciving the same issue when connecting to a sybase server.

What I needed to do was add the server in the DSEDIT interface Driver

start --> Run...

instead of recreating the whole package just recreate that one data flow and see if it works.

Have you considered on deleting and re-creating the package?

I forgot to mention that we also allocated the memory to use more than 2gb on the sql server
