I am faced with a similar taske except I am replacing/upgrading the entire cluster storage as well as the CPU's. Any ideas on how to accomplish this task.

I have always scheduled my transaction log backups to not run during my full or differential database backups.

They are not the same the rebuilt node is SQL2000 with no service packs installed.

I need to install SP2 and the slammer patch.

The question is can I safely reinstall SP2...

I have read those and they use the counters Friedman says are flawed.

I am looking for more information on which counters to use and how to use them.
