When I cut and paste I loose all my formatting and when I paste it into excel it truncates characters!!!

yes, I am using sa which has sysadmin across the board on both. That is what is so confusing to me.

There is actually a seperate SQL Server Service Pack for Analysis Services and you don't need to reapply the SP3q for Database Components.
