I was wondering why you did not use the CustomerKey when you created the cluster in:dist(Sales[,c(1,3,5)])
Wouldn't it have been more effective to cluster...

Most probably it is the following reason:
You are reading from a OLTP database or a database that is updated constantly

Yes, you have a point, since you cant (as yet) force excel to have 1 value selected at a time.
