So what was the solution in your case?
Did you rewrite your DTC transactions? Or was their more to it.
I don't have any DTC transactions that I know of.

I don't know about other DBA's, but I don't usually let Developers start editing registry entries on the SQL server.

I am a huge supporter of virusscan on a SQL server, just be sure as suggested above that you exclude the database files themselves.
Our virusscan on that server saved us...

No conflicting information here...
Win2k Advanced Server supports up to 8gb of ram, so SQL server can only support 8gb on Advanced Server.
Datacenter supports up to 64gb
