Thanks!  I changed the retention settings from 14 days to 20 days in the distributor properties. and issue has been resolved.

Disabled the onsuccess filesystem task. And changed  onfailure constraint to OnCompletion. Package is not executed it just failed at dataflow task...Not moved to filesystem task which will move the excel...

I had setup the  ValidateExternalMetadata to false for Excel source in the data flow and ran the package. Still it stuck at data flow task with validation errors not moving...

I checked with senior DBA here.

backup is the snapshot as of the moment the backup statement commenced. anything after that will not be there in full backup.

in my case backup...

domain admin group has been already added to sql login with sys admin permissions.

yes. purged the backup history and resolved the issue. Thanks.

i found the issue. MSDB data file has 0 growth remaining. It's weird that i see this error now, not time of backup job failure.
