The database is supporting a Dynamics D365 application, and the vendor supporting it recommended that tempdb have the same amount of datafiles as processors on the server....

Yes I added the principals to the audit database and everything is working now.

The guest account is disabled on the other database, but there were non domain...

Back on the OP,  a few things I like that Oracle has

• auto archiving of redo (transaction) logs (as I said before)
• ability to have (or turn off) no logging...

One of my experiences, though, is it does seem the SQL Server community is much friendlier than the Oracle community.  Not to say there aren't helpful people out...

I would agree with the "that depends.." analogy. I've worked with both, but am more used to Oracle than I am MSSQL, mostly because a lot of the MSSQL databases...
