Would you please share with me how to backup to separate, individual bak & trn files.
I only know to accomplish those by setup separate jobs.

You should use SSIS to transfer your data from SQL 2008 to SQL 2000.

Both the Publisher (Microsoft SQL Server 2000 SP4) and Subscriber (Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP1)
have the same collation = SQL Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS.
Can the collation issues cause replication error?
