I wouldn't say it's completely a "running total" problem as you require only previous 12 records from the one in scope.
Running Total will keep adding next value but not select...

Yes but you've explicitly stated numbers corresponding to calendar months from Jan - Nov. I try to avoid any form of "hard-coding".

I've used mixture of "while", "getdate()", "datediff" and for the minute size of it, works well.
I'd consider tally table for something more substantial, but for the sake of 12 rows...
