  • RE: Transaction Log Files

I think this is the first question I instantly knew the answer to, as pointed out I guess Steve prepared us for this one.

Need to get my eyes tested though,...

  • RE: Tempdb

    Easy money, cheers!

  • RE: Resource Governor defaults

Took a while over this as was debating with myself wether "user defined" pools, which are also available with Resource Governor, counted as "Guest" pools. In the end I decided...

  • RE: Log File VLFs

Good question. In all my google'ing I couldn't get a definite answer, and still couldn't even in the linked article associated with the answer.

Ended up applying commonsense, and 50/50 with...

  • RE: ANSI Padding

God damn it!! I would have got this one right had I read the MSDN linked page properly, it was my reference from google.

I assumed VARCHAR & NVARCHAR would be...

  • RE: Before Insert or Update Trigger

Good question, but another lost point for me 🙁

Didn't read the question properly and misunderstood the "INSERTED table" reference. Once I understood that, the answer was easy to find. Bummer.

  • RE: VLFs in Log Files

    Great question, learnt something new.

After reading the editorial and browsing Kimberly Tripps blog, I found it amusing that the google search first item was... Kimberly Tripps blog... coincidence? 😉 ...somehow...

    Nope, doesn't...

  • RE: T-SQL GO statement

    da-zero (11/23/2010)

I like the point the question tried to make, namely using the GO statement as an instrument to loop, but I do not like the trickery with the #...

  • RE: Conditional Order By

    Richard Warr (11/16/2010)

I thought it was an interesting question as well - currently more people have it wrong than right which shows that we can still be surprised at the...

  • RE: To switch or not to switch

    Mighty (11/11/2010)

Looking at the percentage of incorrect results, and the percentages per answer, I wonder if people missed the "in" in "incorrect" in the question.

Yep, that's what happened to me!...

  • RE: Date Puzzle

I'm absolutely gob smacked somebody answered 29Apr, or even worse 31Mar. :ermm:

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt though and presume they suspected a trick question. 😀

    Agree with the...

  • RE: Fun with IDENTITY - Part I

Good question but, regardless of whether it was a "deception" or to "throw people off the scent", the lesson was lost in the absence of the fourth option for "1...

  • RE: System Databases

Just adding another voice to the "I selected the correct answer yet was still marked wrong".

I'm sorry but, as pointed out above, the Resource database can be moved in SQL2005......
