What's the query look like that you are running? A table with a few hundred thousand records shouldn't take long to run, and shouldn't need to be partitioned....

I don't know the correct database structure, but you can create composite key that includes three columns as Primary Key.

Seems your problem is with web, can you post more info about your problem... are you trying to do something with web!?

One more thing, do you have different users to start your services ?!

As mentioned, not a lot of difference. I'd train on 2008 and most things will apply to 2005. Plus you'll learn what not...

As sql_lock says, "it depends", but I suggest SQL DBA + SSIS that is the road to BI (inlcuding also SSRS & SSAS), every company except DBA services need also...
