I could say:

1. change the schedule for distributor so as to run could be after 1hr(if possible)

2. as you said its a reporting database try to use (NOLOCK)...

A little lost for options here guys.

Just because you have good statistics does not mean the optimizer will use them ...

You have to 'force' plan...

The value of the trace file is constantly at 0kb even though there are queries running on the system.

The trace file only gets populated if I restart...
