Yes, I'm sorry, I meant to include that the problems I have encountered are with Microsoft Access 2003 as well, some, even more so.

I have been working with Microsoft Access (1.0) with SQL Server as a back-end for quite some time.

I have encountered multiple problems with Microsoft Access 2000 and SQL Server 2005....

I appreciate the note that the query optimizer tends to mis-read the multiple @variable IS NULL lines.

SQL Server 2005 Version 9.0.2047 is Service Pack 1.

SQL Server 2005 Version 9.0.2153 is Service Pack 1 with the Culmulative Hotfix applied.

Try a test by leaving the Outlook MAPI client open and minimized on your SQL Server box, then do a notificaiton test.
