I have used SQL Discovery Wizard from Quest (http://www.quest.com/discovery-wizard-for-sql-server/) and it is free, not sure you can capture the results into a table though.

You could use COPY_ONLY in the Native backup so it doesn't set a checkpoint and risk impacting the CommVault backups.

From memory (which is normally wrong) I think that error is related to Kerberos/Delegation.

You could try SQLIO or SQLIOSIM from MS (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20163) to test the I/O throughput on the servers, there might be better tools out there though.

Just tried renaming the variable, which caused expressions to fail (proves it was recognised somewhere by ssis) renamed it in the script and ReadWrite variables - same error!!
