I am using the ola.hallengren scripts, so the databases are processed in sequence.  The same script i have been running on my production server for months...

Detach/Attach can only be done with databases in the same SQL Server compatibility mode - meaning you can only for example Detach/Attach a 2016 database in the SQL server...

What are the risks associated with detach/attach as compared to backup/restore?

I find this hard to believe. If I have a table with 50 million rows, is SQL really going to move all those down one space to insert one...
