I'd be curious to hear how your testing went. Log PI is no longer, gobbled up along the acquisition buffet. Log Explorer has not had a new relaese in yeras...

How did you fare in your search? I saw dcpeterson mention Embarcadero with a bunch of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. I wonder if he is referring to their low price?

I'm curious to see if you have used Toad? They acquired a nice editor from Imceda but it is being deep sixed and the users are being forced to go...

I remember (and try to forget) the time I did not preallocate space to the database and database log. My log ran out of space and caused some red face!...

rar is pretty good but why not a Backup vendor like Quest (with LiteSpeed) or Red-Gate? Does anyone know if they have 2005 versions out yet? Or will soon?

At one point I was looking into LogPI (http://www.logpi.com) but they have since been bought out by a company called Goldengate. I am not getting much feedback from them....
