Why do you want to access it via ODBC?

You should be able to replicate between Enterprise and Standard if you like. You should also have no problems moving the databases between editions.

What else do you have on the Y: drive? Other dbs? Can you move the Tempdb log file somewhere else?
It sounds like the Y: drive is fairly busy.
