    Yes, your tally approach is much faster. 100 ms vs 1400 ms on my machine.

    I agree with Rimvydas' approach.

    And for performance concerns on CTEs on this particular problem, this gives all the years from 1753 to 9999 that have 3 Friday the thirteenths. ...

    For this date range technique, for the end date:

    nextrow.PriceStartDate AS EndDate

    I usually do:

    dateadd(day, -1, nextrow.PriceStartDate) AS EndDate

    Also truncate to midnight the start/end date and any date comparisons to the...
