If I understand it correctly there is no service pack which fix this bug for SQL Server 7.

So, it is not possible to "skip" the restore and get the detached files directly?

Just one thing more: could it be that my *remote connection* is the explanation for the "already in use" error message? Is it maybe not possible to do a detach/attach...

I tried setting single user mode through EM. But it doesn't allow me to do that. I get an error message saying that other users are connected to the database....
