I'm sure there are plenty of things I haven't considered but this seems to tick the box I need ticking at the moment.

It picks up any databases which are online...

I've understood that but that failure will give me a lot of information in itself.

Thanks - have had a quick look and that sounds perfect and simple in that I can just look for any database without a backup in the last 24 hours....

I'm comfortable with assuming that people (me I guess) remember to set up appropriate backups for each database so it is just making sure that the backup schedule does trigger...

Just for completeness and to save time for anyone else trying to figure out how to upgrade from developer edition to enterprise edition we have now tested the upgrade process...

Thanks - I've just downloaded a new version but no luck, it thinks client tools have been updated later so won't allow any changes - so I have to suspect...

That's the problem - it's on SP2 and re-running says the client has higher patches in place so a patch for another product on the machine has probably caused the...

Problem is as far as I can tell the system thinks it is fully patched up...

I've checked and I have the same problem creating maintenance plans on remote servers whilst plans being created by others on my instance don't appear to suffer the same problem...

All the software is installed and being run from the same machine so I think everything should be considered local - I've not tried remote access to see if it...
