Named pipes is indeed an older technology and are faster because no encryption is used... Hence it is less secure than the use of TCP/IP

For what purpose are you using them? Do you use them to check your errorlog for certain entries or can you view and/or modify your transaction log?

I tried them but they asume everybody knows all DDL commands.
So i'll rephrase: does anyone have a list with all the DDL commands?
