As previous poster has mentioned. I would suggest WROX books. I like to use them for 2005 and 2008.

check your configurations in reporting service configuration manager. It may have to do with permission to the folders

There are some scripts in this link which will give you object level permissions. You can modify them for your task to find to filter particular domain account....

Its a permission issue. Try
Grant Create on schema::myschema to username or rolename.

Micorsoft Press books for 2005 are great but the ones for 2008 have mixed reviews. For 2008 you can try books published by WROX

I would go with second configuration. But one more thing I would like to add. Generally we prefer keeping the index file on a separate drive than the data file....

do you provide sa password? if yes try logging in using that. If you are able to login , then you will have to fix all the orphan users.
