By database reduce job do mean that you are shrinking the DB?

I agree with Paul if you are just looking at (user, security, backup/restore) then not much has changed...
if you are looking at performance tunning, sql reports or ssis ...

I agree the Mirror is probably the easiest to set up. as long as you set up the mirror in high-safety mode you will not loose any data....just be careful...

I am sure everyone has a diif method but we release ours to svn folder where we group everything by project, then if you have some fixes between large release...

On the step , go to advanced tab and set "On set on failure action" to go to next step
On notification set when the job fails......
