Reboot the machine if Possible - this will resolve many issues. (Production)

Database is never backedup till date. Its a DEV server. So planned to perform a backup

Why there is - "There is 1GB memmory allocated to SQL Server." If you have excess memory you can increase based on the requirement. Recommended is 2GB must for OS.

Domain Change:
1. Services running under domain account should be changed
2. Check the report server and sharepoint if you are working

You cannot automate database backups using Express Edition as you cant find SQL server Agent to create or schedule.

Check the disk space on both the servers.
Check if the mirroring is sync with the Mirror DB by monitoring.
