Bob - CAST statement in signature...

CAST(SUBSTRING(CAST(FLOOR(NULLIF(ISNULL(COALESCE(1,NULL),NULL),NULL)) AS CHAR(1)),1,1) AS INT) == 1

The statement on the left is equal to the statement on the right, i.e. 1.

The double-equals is dev-jargon...

Derek, Tried the CAST statement in you Post Signature and got an error. Is it supposed to be valid SQL? Thanks.

In researching SPARSE columns, I cannot quite see their value. I'm not that experienced with Sql Server, I wonder how often they are used? Seems examples I have seen look...
