Hi everyone, when I stop the mail using xp_stopmail and restart it, I get the follwoing error:
SQL Mail session started.
Server: Msg 18025, Level 16, State 1, Line 0
xp_startmail: failed with mail error 0x8004011d
When I try to send an email using xp_sendmail, I get the following error:
Server: Msg 18025, Level 16, State 1, Line 0
xp_sendmail: failed with mail error 0x80004005
Any idea why this is happening? We are running Win 2000/SQL 2000. Thanks in advance.

I have exactly the same problem and can find little help with it. If no-one can come up with an answer, does anyone know of a good resource on stored-procedures and general T-SQL?

Does this happen every time or did it start recently? When you go to the server, are you able to start up Outlook and send and receive mail normally?
