We have around 25 SQL Servers and I am part of the sysadmin group (through my windows authentication) in all these servers. If I execute xp_cmdshell in all these servers locally (through remote desktop connection), I can execute it fine. But when I execute it locally using my Query Analyser or SQL Server Management studio on these servers, I am getting a network error. I have never had this kind of problems in my previous job environments.
I have searched google groups, google, MSDN, but I have not found anybody who has encountered these problems. Usually I dont like to remote desktop to the servers to do my work. So if somebody has encountered these problems and found a fix, please let me know.
Thanks,
Raja Selvaraj

Which version the servers are? 2000 or 2005? What's the error?

We have a mix of 2000 and 2005. It happens in 2000 and 2005. Again, only I execute using a client tool in my local laptop. It executes fine if I remote desktop to the server.
The error that I am getting is "A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The specified network name is no longer available.)".
Thanks,
Raja
