Would You Pay To Wear Jeans?

  • I think dress impacts employees in many ways. There is generally a reason for most of the dress codes.

If you take a group of boys and dress them in jeans and t-shirts, then take them and put them in Suits the boys act differently. The same applies to adults but mayhaps not quite as visibly. I think if there is a "price" to the dress down days, it helps retain some of the semblance of what the people are supposed to be acting like.

  • Interesting that you only translated the first half of the phrase, of course that is the only part dealing with clothes as opposed to the mind.

  • I have seen almost all variations posted before me ("Kiss The Pig" being the notable exception). I haven't seen it affect productivity. Nor have I seen it affect employee satisfaction as I think that it is an indicator how a place may be like rather than something that directly changes a staff's opinion of a place.

There was this one company that had hawaiian shirt days...

...and no one mentioned Steve's penchant for Hawaiian shirts? Shocking!!!
