Hi,
Am getting the following error message on my windows server 2000 "17122 :initdata: Warning: Could not set working set size to 1956864 KB. "
Can anyone explain the root cause of this issue ?

Is AWE enabled on the SQL Server? How much memory do you have allocated to SQL Server - if more then 2 GB you will recieve this error.

we have allocated 6 GB out of 8 GB to sql server and also enabled the AWE on the server.
Can you elaborate on this ?

Did you just recently enable the PAE/AWE? When did you first receive the error?
