    Hey all,

    I came across this post and wanted to work on something similar, with more flexibility. I think with some time I could update this to work how I want it to, but I'm curious if something better is already out there.

    Basically ...

    - I want to control the servers polled via a control table

    - I want to be able to poll all counter names and instance names on first poll, but only record the specific counters I am looking for, again controlled by a control table

    - I want to be able to create generic templates that consist of specific sets of counters to be able to easily implement against a server without having to specify each and every counter desired, again controlled by a control table

    Overall I want to be able to record counters amongst 100 servers with very little effort involved in terms of managing and maintaining. I realize there is some pretty good software out there available for purchase, but obviously I'd like to venture the free route first and then work on creating my own process if I can't find anything to fit the above needs.

    Hoping to catch someone's attention that may have already done something like this ... going to get underway with starting my own process as I have not yet found anything worthwhile.
