Hi everyone,
Im looking to install a secondary server on site to handle SQL server, at the moment were using SQL Express, but I was wondering if there are any version of windows server 2008 that ship with SQL server standard edition to save buying it in at extra cost at a later date. This way we could purchase the server with the OS and SQL server as a bundle hopefully saving some cash.
Thanks,
Rob

I think Windows 2008 Small Business Server (SBS) Premium edition ships with SQL 2008 standard - however I can't imagine this being cheaper than buying 2008 Server and SQL Standards on their own as this throws in other stuff, Exchange etc, that you probably don't want but would still be paying for.

The SQL Server standard for small business server standard comes with 75 CALs cap so I agree it is better to buy the Windows 2008 server and SQL Server 2008 separate.
