I got another server dropped in my lap.
It is running SQL 2000 on Win2000 Server. It is running Windows Authentication and no one knows the sa password. Right now I don't even know how to add my self to WIN2000 or SQL 2000 to a handle on this.
I need to get access to the machine to solve a disk space problem, then I have to get a second server setup and ready for production in less than 4 weeks.
1) How do I get access to the machine?
2) Any good materials for a starting point on this topic?
Thanks, Joseph

Gee possible MSSQLCrack might be useful to find out that sa password. You might consider reading the following article by Steve Jones:

You'll need to be able to connect to run MSSQLCrack.
Add yourself to the local administrators group. Right click MyComputer, slect Manage. choose Local Users and Groups, then Groups. Dbl click Administrators and Add your account.

THANKS!
I got into the server and have changed the password. I am working on finding out how to setup the production server.
