I have run into a minor road block Win7 upgrade advisor is saying some of my hardware utilities will not install that if I remember Win2k may leave my hadware not usable and that will not be funny. So I am going to look for my hardware users experience with Win7 before installing.

I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate clean install takes 30 minutes or less on two year old hardware with 2gig of ram but IIS 7.5 was not installed and when installed not configured so it is easy to install but most normal users needs to get a qualified person to install.

  • I think it depends on hardware, and you'll see new drivers coming out all the time now that manufacturers have the RTM.

I had no issues on a 1yr old machine and a 2 yr old machine with the RC. I'll be reinstalling here soon when I get a few good hours free.

I stand corrected Windows 7 is the best Microsoft operating system it added new networking protocols that makes both local connection and wireless connection configuration free. My NIC cards are both Intel but I don't think that is relevant.

The only annoyance is running msconfig to access application it decided are not signed which included the Daemon tools

I need to install ISO based install files.

So Microsoft just needs the prediction modeling to quantify Vista conversion and sales will be blow out.

  • My IE is clearing my cookies automatically and randomly and I think it is related to Windows 7 I have looked and have not found any information.

I also want to know why I did not get Hindi in my language pack because Microsoft said it is one of the defaults, I got almost 2gig file and there is no Hindi. I tried some solution posted on MSDN and it took me to Vista langauge download, you would think a language pack should be in MSDN download and there is none.
