Will 32-bit programs (such as VB, Crystal Reports) work on 64-bit SQL 2008 ?

  • We are thinking to upgrade directly from SQL 2000 Enterprise Edition directly to 64-bit SQL 2008 Enterprise Edition. However, there are some concerns whether existing 32-bit applications such as VB and Crytal Reports will continue work against 64-bit SQL 2008. Have anybody tested ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jimmy

  • I upgraded our sql server 2005 to 64bit and all our .Net applicaiton worked fine afterwards. Not sure about Crystal though..

  • We still have VB6. Will it work ?

  • it should do, unless you are using some old t-sql code that has been deprecated in the 2008 release..
