Hi,
I've been pondering about SQL Server Service Broker and, whilst I understand what it is, I'm trying to figure out when and where it would be used.
Of course, I can read all the marketing blurb about this but I'd prefer to get some opinions from people on the ground.
Thanks in advance!

I haven't had the time to read it yet, but I noted that Rushi Desai made a blog post about replacing an MSMQ q with a service broker q.

I suspect it's a choice that you make for ease of admin or skillsets rather than a technical reason.

According SQL 2005 BOL, (search "Install Messaging Objects" on BOL) Service Broker is required for Database Mail (aka SQLiMail) functionality.
