I too love Steve's editorials and always read them and want to see them left just where they are, as they remind me of the work-life balance when they pop up at some stage of my English working day (or often the next day).
Even thoughI don't have a clue about American football I can appreciate someone's enjoyment and it's Steve's general enthusiasm for real life as we all know it (warts and all) that makes such compelling reading!
Keep writing just the same - we need the all-round balanced view.

I do like reading Steve's editorials. I think they are refreshing and for most part ( in my opinion) dead on and accurate. I know it takes a lot of effort doing it daily. Good Job Steve - and keep up the good work.

Steve,
I recently took a job that does not allow me to do as much SQL or reading as I used to. With my limited time, I find that I basically read your editorial and the QOD as those are the two parts I enjoy the most.
Keep up the good work!

The editorials don't suck, no matter how far they may range from technical issues.
As others have said in this thread, just because you're in IT doesn't mean you're obligated to sign away your humanity and think of nothing else. Unfortunately, too many folks in IT seem to be under that impression. I once interviewed for a job that involved implementing some new software for an office. The interviewer said she'd talked to a dozen or so geeks, but I was the first human being who'd walked through the door!
