Try this:
http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Search/fulltextsearch.asp
You can select whether to search against just forums or just articles.

Thankx a ton. It would be great if the same search would appear on the footer of every page on the forum.

It's on the menu bar (Home | Resources | Community | Products, etc.) at the top of the page.

We're looking at ideas for different search engines as well. Not that full text search is bad mind you, but there are some nice alternatives out there.

FULL TEXT SEARCHING is an internal SQL feature right? What other engine could you use besides FULL TEXT Search? move the data warehouse to mySQL? :O

Full Text is good, but having some other indexing capabilities, plus the ability to move the load to another server is something we're looking at. Full Text isn't as mature as some other engines.
Our hardware is being pushed to the limit right now, but we should alleviate that in the next few weeks.

Hey, thats the "reason" we used in the first place, its built in! Well, that and the price was right. We might end up keeping both, if nothing else so that we continue to use it and explore changes to it as MS makes them.
