Why does column default look like this - ((0))

  • I want a default of 0 for a column. When I create this default in Management Studio, the formatting of the default looks like this:

    ((0))

    instead of just 0
Does anyone know why the two sets of parenthesis are added by Management Studio?

    Just curious,

  • Yeah, that's weird.  It only happens after you save the table.  And when you script the table the double parens are listed there too.
